The World We See and Experience

Artwork “Love” by David Carlson

The piece is titled “Love.”

A gallery opened nearby, and it feels wonderful to step out for lunch and “snack” on something beautiful. I took a photo of the painting because it felt as if it was challenging me - almost inviting me into a duel to defend Love. But as I walked back to the office, the artist’s intention began to unfold within me.

This is exactly what love feels like.

Not hearts, not soft decorations - but this: a real, serious, disorienting feeling.

A process where nothing makes sense, where expectations dissolve, where no clear paths appear - only a profound trust in circumstances and a willingness to simply be in the moment.

We feel first - something ignites quietly in the heart.

Then the eyes try to recognize it, the ears listen for signs and confirmations, the senses gather fragments and align them with that shy inner knowing. But the knowing speaks so softly that doubt begins to whisper.

The eyes look for support:

“No, it can’t be love… just something pretty that attracted me.”

The voice inside says:

“Well, it’s nice to be inspired; everything sings your favorite songs when you’re in a good mood… but it’s not love.”

Fragmented pieces of our once‑happy world begin to spin, urging us to forget the brightest parts. So, we run - far - toward places where our eyes no longer recognize anything familiar. Free. Free… or so we think.

Yet something keeps pulling us back, a quiet force drawing us toward the center of ourselves - toward balance, harmony, beauty. Toward the place where answers live, the place of knowing.

It is here that magnet of attraction and the desire for freedom must merge, and the focus on the beloved must become unbroken by anything the two physical eyes can see when doubt tries to interfere. Merging but not disappearing, a dance of the two in oneness

And then I wonder…

How will the painting turn out in the end?

What shapes and colors will emerge when the artist finishes revealing the truth of Love?

From Outer Vision to Inner Vision: Entering the World of Yantras

Experiences like this remind us that what we see with our physical eyes is only a fraction of reality. There is a deeper vision - an inner sight - that perceives meaning, energy, and essence beyond form.

This is where yantras come in.

Yantras are not just drawings; they are sacred geometric maps that train the mind to see beyond surface appearances. When we draw or meditate on a yantra, we activate a different kind of perception - one that reveals layers of truth the physical eyes cannot access.

Through yantra meditation, the mind becomes still enough to witness subtle energies, emotional patterns, and intuitive insights. The shapes guide the consciousness inward; the symmetry awakens clarity; the act of drawing becomes a dialogue with the unseen.

Embracing the Practice of Yantras

When we encounter art that stirs something deep within us, like the painting “Love”, we are reminded that our physical eyes perceive only a fraction of reality. The rest is revealed through an inner vision, a subtler sight that awakens when the mind becomes still and the heart becomes attentive.

This is the essence of yantra practice.

Yantras are sacred geometric diagrams used for centuries in yogic and tantric traditions. They are not merely drawings; they are maps of consciousness, mirrors for the inner world, and gateways into deeper perception. When we draw or meditate on a yantra, we begin to see beyond the surface, beyond shapes, colors, and lines, into the energetic architecture that underlies all experience.

Yantras teach us to perceive the world not only as it appears, but as it is - vibrational, interconnected, and profoundly intelligent.

They invite us to witness ourselves with greater honesty, to understand our emotional patterns, and to cultivate a deeper relationship with the subtle body.

They open the door to inner vision.
